WHAT IS A READINESS CONSULTANT?
A Readiness Consultant (RC) is a middle or high school teacher who has taken the RC course offered by the Center. This course will orient teachers to the latest research about college and career readiness, give teachers a forum to discuss their classroom experiences with other teachers, and provide an opportunity for teachers to create activities and assignments that can be used in the Activate Academy, the classroom, and in professional development with their peers.
HOW ARE RCS SELECTED?
RCs are selected by the principals of the participating middle and high schools. The first RC class will consist of teachers from Florence District One and from Florence District Four.
WHAT WILL RCS DO?
RCs will meet once a week during the spring semester to study and discuss current research and to develop instructional materials for their classrooms, professional development sessions, and the Activate Academy. All participating RCs will earn continuing education credit for completing the course.
